This piece is a setting of four poems by Emily Dickinson. Each text portrays one of the four seasons in an atypical way: summer is damp and rainy instead of bright and sunny; autumn sees a resurgence of life and warmth rather than being a period of decay; winter is bright and shining rather than dark and cold; and spring reminisces on death and loss rather than being a time of rebirth and renewal.
